Each student must write three short analytical papers during the course of the semester. I will provide a few questions at the end of the weekly reading guide (linked to the syllabus) to start you thinking. Although these papers are short -- about three or four pages -- make sure that they are well-written and coherent; I do not want a series of disconnected thoughts.

Papers being written for any given week are due at the start of class that Friday.

I will be looking at the overall quality and thoughtfulness of your papers as well as your understanding of the material (altogether, the papers count towards 20% of your total grade). It is in your best interest to space these papers out over the course of the semester so that you receive feedback on your work in a timely way.
