U.S.S. Knox (APA-46)

The U.S.S. Knox was a Bayfield Class Attack Transport built (construction date unknown) at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula Miss.. Acquired by the Navy and commissioned USS Knox (APA-46), 4 March 1944 and decommissioned, 14 March 1946.

Many of the photographs on this website belonged to my father, David Mountain, M.D., who served aboard the U.S.S. Knox.  Mark Toft has also contributed a number of photographs.  Feel free to make copies for personal use, but resale and other commercial uses are prohibited.
