When I’m not sciencing, I enjoy a variety of activities. Below are a few of those hobbies, accompanied by some pictures.

Performing in musical theatre is fun and rewarding. I’ve performed with numerous high school and community theatre productions in the last 10 years. I maintain strong ties with St. Clare Musical Theatre (SCMT) on Staten Island, where I’ve been in musicals like Seussical the Musical, Damn Yankees, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (pictured above right). I have also sung in a number of smaller venues with a variety of people, such as the Macaulay Arts Night (pictured above left).

A few years back, I started a blog called Science For Dessert. My idea was to find a way to better my writing skills, and to also improve on explaining science concepts to a general audience. The blog itself is somewhat personal, and definitely more casual in its presentation, especially when it comes to the drawings I often create in the entries(see above images). Overall, it’s been a fun experience I hope to continue.

One of my life goals is to have visited all 50 states in the U.S. I think it’s fascinating and of paramount importance to be able to fully experience all my home country has to offer. I have made significant progress, thanks to a road trip across the midwest I made in 2012 with some friends. Above are two photos from said trip—the left photo being of the shore of Lake Michigan (in Kenosha, Wisconsin), while the right photo is one from the Badlands National Park in South Dakota.
