My research interests include statistical genetics, statistical genomics/proteomics, and system biology with the applications in human complex diseases. I am particularly interested in statistical problems in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data. The interested human diseases may include Cadiovascular diseases, Parkinson's/Alzheimer's diseases, Infectious diseases, and Cancer.

Some major statistical methods include, but not limited to,

  • Nonparametric/Semi-parametric Modeling
  • Generalized Linear Models
  • Nonparametric Bayesian Statistics
  • Multivariate Statistics
  • Time Series

Some interested genetic topics may include, but not limited to,

  • Rare variants
  • Synthetic (combined rare and common variants) association
  • Secondary and/or multiple phenotypes, and pleiotropic genetic associations studies
  • Joint analysis family and unrelated case-control data
  • Gene-gene interactions, gene-environment interactions, protein-protein interactions
  • Genomic and sequences analysis
  • Combined genetic variants with the underlying genetic regulation pathways and gene expression to dissect the etiology of disease.

News: I will go to Heidelberg, Germany to attend 20th Annual International Genetic Epidemiology Society meeting from September 18th to 20th, 2011, and I will give a talk as a finalist of James V. Neel Young Investigator Award... Yeah! Click here here to see the slides.

News: Our new paper titled "Bayesian inference for genomic data integration reduces misclassification rate in prediction of protein-protein interactions" is reported online by genomeweb. Click here to see the report.
