Q. Does the team have varsity status, or is it just a club team?

A. Unfortunately the team is just a club at this point, but we're working on it!

How often does the team practice?

We practice three times a week: Tuesday and Thursday nights 8 - 10pm, and Sundays 12 - 3pm

How many meets do you go to each season?

We usually attended four or five meets each season.

What does a meet consist of?

A meet consists of four competitions - one for each type of routine. We compete with other collegiate teams - varsity and club - in each.

So what are the four types of routines?

Routines are divided by the number of swimmers in the routine. There are solos, duets, trios, and team routines. A team routine can have anywhere from four to eight swimmers. Solos last three minutes, duets and trios three and a half minutes, and team routines are four minutes.

I am still not clear on what a "routine" is.

A routine is similar to dance in that it is set to music, and the swimmers are synchronized with each other.

I am interested in joining - do I need to have any synchro experience?

Absolutely not, we will teach you everything you need to know. Dance or swimming experience is certainly valuable, but even if you don't have that, we'll work with you.

I definitely want to join. How do I go about it?

The best thing to do is send an email to Christina Marmet and Ellen Scott. They will get you started.
