Election Day will be held at Hanlong's place - 1127 Commonwealth Avenue, Apt 27 (opposite Super 88) on 30 April (next Saturday), 11.30am. We will also be having our very own Iron Chef competiton (well, just another reason for us to pig out).

Iron Chef Competition
We welcome anyone to take part in our Iron Chef competition. Each team will comprise of 2-4 members, of which 1 must be a BUSCS member. Up to three teams can take part due to space and time constraints. A secret ingredient will be announced on Friday for teams to prep and buy the ingredients for their dish. We will buy the secret ingredients on behalf of all teams.

BUSCS will sponsor up to $10 for each team to procure all other ingredients needed to perfect their dish. Teams are welcome to whip up dishes that cost more than $10, but we encourage teams to think creative and whet our appetite with the given budget.

The judges? Everyone who is present on Election Day!

Please email me if you are interested to participate in the competition.

Alrighty, that's all folks for now. It's spring time! Also, MIT has cordially invited all BU folks for their Kendall Kopitiam this weekend. Details were sent out via earlier today. Check it out!

The BUSCS is co-sponsoring TASA's Night Market this Friday. Details are as follows! Hope to see you there.

Time: Friday, April 8, 9:30pm-12:30am
Place: BU Central , GSU lower level

Come check out TASA's first ever Night Market! In many Asian cultures, especially Taiwan, an important part of the night life is the yeh shi, or night market. In Taiwan, the night market consists of streets upon streets lined with booths that contain fun games, delicious food and snacks, toys and much more. We hope to recreate the bustling and exciting atmosphere of a Taiwanese night market at our event, which will feature stands offering delicious Taiwanese snacks and drinks, games, activities and a musical performance by a Berklee band.

Co-sponsors: aKDPhi, CSA, HKSA, JSA, Lambda Phi Epsilon, SCS

Ski Trip Updates

There has been a change to the Ski Trip details, as per the email I sent out last night. Instead of the original 20 allocated seats, each club in ASIA has now been allocated only 9 seats due to bus capacity constraints.

So this is the new deal: the first 9 people who RSVP will be guaranteed a seat at $20/pax. All subsequent members who RSVP will be put in "waiting list". If there is more than a total of 84 people going between ASIA, then those in waiting list
will most likely be given a spot as we will now be able to rent 2 buses instead of 1. If people on the waiting list are given a spot, it will cost them $30/pax. So if we are unable to gather enough people for the second bus, then only the
first 9 from BUSCS are able to go.

Confusing? RSVP and be the first 9 people - $20/pax (includes transportation and lift tickets), guaranteed seat. After the first 9 seats are filled up, you will be placed on a waiting list; you will pay $30/pax if there is enough people to fill up the second bus.

Please email your particulars by Sunday, Feb 13th, 10pm.

Full Name:
BU ID#:
Email Address:
Cell Phone#:

Also, here is the updated details of the ski trip.

Ski Location: Sunday River
Date: Saturday, Feb 26
Pick-up Location: Outside the Fuller Building, 808 Comm Ave
Departure time from Boston: 5:30AM (everyone must arrive 15min early!)
Departure time from ski area: 4:30PM
Cost: $20/pax for first 9 who RSVP; $30/pax for those on waiting list. (includes transportation and ski lift, ski rental not included)
Equipment Rentals: Approximately $20 at Ski Market (rent from Ski Market the night prior to departure) or about $30 (at Sunday River)

We sincerely apologise for any incovenience caused and hope to see your confirmations soon. Thank you! First come first served!

Ski Trip

ASIA is organising a ski trip on Feb 26th 2005 (Saturday). In case you don't know, ASIA is an alliance that comprises of BUSCS, Taiwanese American Club, Chinese Student Club, Hongkong Student Club, Japanese Student Club, and Korean Club.

This ski trip will cost approximately $25-35, dependable on the total number of people going. The costs includes transportation and lift fee, but not your ski rentals. This ski trip is heftily subsidized by the SAO, and it's definitely worth a go! A typical ski trip with Ski Market (along Commave) cost about $55/pax for transportation and lift ticket.

As this is a joint event with the various student groups, BUSCS is allocated 20 seats. It is crucial for interested parties to RSVP with us by Sunday, Feb 13th 10pm.

Ski Location: To be determined
Date: 26 Feb 2005, Saturday
Cost: Approximately $25-35 per pax (includes transportation and lift tickets)

Besides enjoying the snow in its purest form and feeling the adrenaline rush skiing down the mountains, this will also be a great opportunity to expand your social circle in BU. Why procrastinate? RSVP now!
