Boston University Students Against Human Trafficking (BUSAHT) is a student group
comprised of highly motivated undergraduates committed to raising awareness and helping in the
fight against human trafficking and modern-day slavery worldwide.
The group was founded in 2006 by several concerned students after attending a
lecture by Dr. Mei Mei Ellerman of the Polaris Project. Inspired to take action, they created
BUSAHT in order to learn more about the issue, and to share their knowledge about the trafficking of
persons with the rest of the student body.
Some of our events have included teach-ins, awareness parties, dinners, film nights, symposiums, lectures, and
campus tabling. In addition, we hope to include fundraising activities, workshops, and visits to local non-profits in our
campaign in the near future. For more information, please contact us at busaht@gmail.com.
And as always, if you have any ideas or fresh insight, we encourage you to attend one of our regular meetings (please see the Contact
section), even if you know nothing about the issue (yet!). We are always looking for new voices in the fight against human trafficking.
Everyone counts!
