OUR HISTORY
The Hindu Students Council at Boston University started in 1995 by some very enthusiastic students, which include Jayen Patel, Mona Bhatt, Deepti Nair, Rohit Khosla and Poornima Kairmana among others. HSC at BU organized a plethora of activities in 1995-96 with the leadership of its dedicated coordinators. BU HSC's first successful event was YUVA '95 , a regional conference. It was one of the best kick off events for the group. The Hindu Student Councils at MIT and Northeastern University helped tremendously to host the event. In 1996, BU HSC coordinators put in months of hard work to organize the 1996 Garba, in which more than 500 people attended. HSC BU also published a prayer book in 1996. This booklet has been a great asset not just for BU members but also for all chapters across the nation. BU HSC has also started an annual Holi Retreat beginning in 1997. BU members also helped organizing two major regional events - Yuva '97 at MIT and Camp 1997 in New Hampshire. With the leadership of Rahul Deshikant, on September 1998, HSC BU published a scholastic journal Moksha.
