2009 - 2010 BU Debate Society Members
Officers
President / APDA Vice-President / APDA Webmaster/Co-Tournament Director
Alex Taubes (CAS '11) |

Alex began his life as a quarry worker. He has since shed his humble beginnings, acquiring all American real estate, becoming president of our debate society and working his way toward a B.S. in schmooze. As APDA VP of Operations and Lord of the Wiki, Alex records the league's statistics. His own speaker ranking has consequently risen. Next year, he will be president of APDA.

Vice President |
Evelyn Liberman (CAS '12) |

Reefer T Crackbat suffers daily danger. As a leader of Boston's gangsta community, she faces gunfire each time she leaves home. Wombats and bobcats regularly attack her as well, and she bears scars as proof. She defends herself well though, using skills such as meanness and being mean. She is currently learning Hewbrew. Slowly. The words sound sharp coming from her mouth, but they're softer than most of her other words. |
Treasurer / Co-Tournament Director / Novice Nournament Director |
Greg Meyer (CAS '11) |

Greg's experience as Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare secretary prepared him well for his current board position. He also uses his knowledge of substringian physics, when he wishes to neutralize opponents electrolytically, and his opera skills, when he needs to clear a room without saying "please." Greg is a particularly useful friend on cold nights, when he can lend you two or three of the six hoodies he wears in layers. |
Secretary |
Tom Hagedorn (ENG '10) |

The world and Tom have been at odds with each other for some years now. The number of people he acknowledges as worth sparing has dropped, and the number of German beer varieties has risen only slightly. But perseveres and vents his frustration by donning a mask, breaking into the asylum and beating inmates. Tom also hosts a late night talkshow on NBC, and he hopes his bosses will honor their agreement. |

Lesser minions

Brady Bizarro (CAS '11)
You can shoot Brady in the face and he will not flinch. Dead men don't flinch. Dead men also don't tell tales. As Brady will tell you. Now that's a tale to tell.

Erica Brandt (CQD '10)
We consider Erica our team Mom. Mom is an alcoholic who beats us, badmouths all our friends and regularly brings home new "uncles." Erica, however, is nice. |

Joe Burke (CAS '11)
Joe Burke is a lumberjack. A lumberjack. A lumberjack. George Washington was America's very first lumberjack. And Joe Burke - he's a lumberjack. |

Jake Campbell (CAS '11)
For his final year on APDA, the circuit has elected Jake both a novice mentor and the head of the EOF program that protects vulnerable debaters. The team/Jake philisophical divide has never been greater. |

Garron Chiu (SMG '10)
A finalist in Hong Kong's "Sexiest Chiu Alive" competition, Garron is responsible for hiring limos for our out-of-state trips. He also likes to make it rain using his helicopter and silver iodide. |

Laura DeBenedetto (CAS '11)
Laura spends a lot of her time in the Alaskan wilderness hunting moose. She owns a coat made entirely out of cat skins and an album made entirely out of CAT scans. |

Logan Gowdy (CAS '12)
Out of all debaters who leant their names to international airports, Logan ranks right up there with Jefferson Gatwick ('89), Grant O'Hare ('97) and LA X ('10). That's hairgel he's using, by the way. |

Tanay Khandelwal (CAS '12)
Besides debate, Tanay spends time with BU's Model UN. We can only assume then that he's useless, boring and enjoys limiting his discussion of issues to a single subject. |

Kate LaForge (CAS '11)
One time, Kate continued debating when a spectator shot her. Another time, she won a debate after her partner left town halfway through the round. |

Ihssane Lekey (CAS '12)
.We don't quite remember this girl's name, but her fez is familiar. We remember though that she's married, which saddens us because it reminds us how we're getting older and may never find someone. |

Andrew McDonough (CAS '12)
When Andrew was younger, his friends gave him he nickname "The Trashcan Man" because they suspected him of arson. Argry at the world, he retreated to his lab, where he made a monster. Of organs. |

Raffi Melanson (CAS '10)
Rumors of Raffi's drug offenses are entirely unfounded. "Chill pills" are in fact legal and largely metaphorical though often difficult to find. Just like Raffi. |

Ryan Menezes (ASM '10)
Menezes is our international man of mystery. Sometimes he vanishes for weeks. Other times, it's months, and we don't even know what country he's in. |

Amelia Warren (CAS '12)
Amelia owns several ships, which transport spice from distant islands. Pirates who set the ships on fire learn just how explosive powdered paprika can be. |

Madison Zraick (COM '11)
Of all debaters named after presidents, Madison ranks right up there with Jefferson Gatwick ('89), Grant O'Hare ('94) and LB J ('10). That's not hairgel she's using, by the way. |
