The Boston University Debate Society (motto: " 'University Debate' is our middle name. No really, it is. Check." ) is a group of students who gather with the purpose of learning and strengthening the skills of reasoning, argumentation and persuasion. Secondary goals include acquiring shiny trophies, traveling to dozens of college campuses, acquiring non-shiny trophies, indoctrinating one another, meeting the smartest young people in the country, inflating our egos, inflating our ages, dressing to kill, acquiring cheap certificates in lieu of trophies, memorizing the Constitution, inventing amendments to the Constitution whenever we feel like it, sleeping ten to a room, using stopwatches, not using stopwatches, being elected to the Supreme Court, insulting each other to our faces, laughing till we cry, crying, acquiring trophies the other team "left behind" by mistake, and... grog.
We may not be the oldest team on the American Parliamentary Debate Association circuit, and we may not seem the wisest. But we are the best. We know this, and soon you will as well. Welcome to our website.
