Dear all,

Up to now we have over 50 signed up for the new student mailinglist and most will need either pickup and temporary housing or both, for which we have got response from 12 warm-hearted people that are offering to help.

All volunteers are going to meet up before the end of July to talk about details.

For incoming students, to keep us posted with your travel plan, we have created new database on our Yahoo Group for your intinerary information to help arrange the pickup and temp housing. You now have access to:

Please put your information in the database before the end of June so that we can talk about helping you out. You can make changes later and we'll contact you around a week before your first entered arrival date. We should appreciate the kind help from volunteers, esp. for airport pickup. International flights tend to delay considerably (having to stay over the night is not unusual for volunteers). So please be advised to at least compensate the driver for the gas and expenses (around $30) if they are driving, which is more than fair comparing to taking a taxi. And for those who are providing temporary housing, please understand that they are paying the rent for the place you are staying in (about $20/day).
