I am a Research Assistant Professor at Boston University specializing in development of speech synthesizer interfaces to replace, aid or rehabilitate communication. In particular, as co-director of the Neural Prosthesis Laboratory I have focused on non-invasive brain-machine interfaces to control augmentative and alternative communication devices and for direct control over formant synthesizers with instantaneous auditory output.
I also collaborate with the Communication and Design Laboratory at Northeastern University (CADLAB) to implement and design tools for acoustic analysis of speech, and intuitive computer interfaces to study speech prosody in children and adults, with and without speech disorders.
