Closet Skeletons- Done for a class, this is an example of digital sampling, in which ALL of the tones used in this were derived from the sound of a slinky rocking back and forth in my hands. For the most part, these tones were created by cutting down to a millisecond or so, and using time-stretching and filtering capabilities of the Roland S-770 hardware sampler. The melody, fairly familiar, I actually based on the second movement of Mahler’s First Symphony, which in turn borrows from the French Children’s song Frere Jacques.
