Audition Information

Our Audition date will be:
January 22, 2009 in CAS room 114B 8-10pm

Callbacks will be:
January 25, 2009 7:30-10pm

Please watch for fliers around campus containing information about our group and join our facebook group or event "Barbershop Sweethearts Auditions!" for current updates.

Audition Process

When you arrive for your audition, we will have you fill out a short questionnaire that will help us get to know you better.

At the beginning of your audition we will give you a short warm-up. The warm-up will test your range.

After you warm up you will be asked to sing back a several short series of notes to test your pitch matching.

Next, you will sing a short solo piece. Please prepare to sing a verse and a chorus of a song that you feel comfortable singing. Feel free to let your personality shine through during your solo. The most important thing is to choose something you have fun singing!

Last, there will be a short melody provided. If you feel comfortable, we will ask you to sight sing the phrase. Do not worry about this part too much; the ability to sight sing is not required in the Barbershop Sweethearts.

We may email you following auditions if we would like you to attend our callbacks. At callbacks, you will learn a part of a song we sing. Callbacks are designed to focus your learning and blending abilities.
