The IDL of Brian
I seem to do a heck of a lot of IDL programming and thought I would make a few tips and tricks available to the world.
Of course the most useful of all possible IDL sites is Coyote’s Guide to IDL Programming, you should always go there first, then to the idl usenet group, then to any number of other better resources, then finally to my site.
If you are still here you undoubtedly want something in particular so I will shut-up and get to the info.
First thing it may important to remember who I am and what kinds of programs I write. I am a scientist (space physics) so all my programs are related to that work. Scientists as a collective are not known for fantastic programming but we do get the job done. Along that line I always want to get the job done so all these codes will do that. I will assume that the reader is a good idl programmer and too lazy to do it themselves but capable of doing so. I will also assume that the reader has IDL solar soft installed and functioning (sorry for this but it has so many good routines that I cant live without) all of the SolarSoft code can be downloaded individually from here.
This page is a repository of random code, what is found here and not other places is statistics code to do all sorts of things...
Here is the IDLdoc version of all my utility routines:

The archive of posts is more useful than this page but this is how iWeb does it and I am too busy to create another system.
