COURSE OBJECTIVE: To present a philosophy for diagnosis in speech-language pathology that includes "the importance of disciplined, comprehensive description of behavior using the best tools available, comparing that information with information about the normal population, and bringing these data together with clinical history information to arrive at hypotheses about diagnoses that can then be rationally tested through therapy in a problem-solving mode." T.M.&S COURSE REQUIREMENTS: There will be short papers of analysis and reflection on the various diagnostic projects and topics covered in the course. There will be announced quizzes on the material related to each topic . Attendance and class discussion will be considered in grading.
